Understanding the Desk Columns
The tables presented across the Vaultscoutfild desk are constructed using standard international sports editorial metrics. Below is an index explaining the purpose of each column parameter:
- P (Played): Represents the total number of matches officially completed and validated by the sports desk. Groups B and C have played 3 matches each; all other groups have completed 2.
- W (Wins): The total number of fixtures won by the respective national association. Each win awards 3 points.
- D (Draws): The total number of fixtures resulting in level scores at full-time. Each draw awards 1 point.
- L (Losses): The total number of matches in which the association was defeated. No points are awarded.
- GF (Goals For): The cumulative number of official goals scored by the team across all completed matches.
- GA (Goals Against): The cumulative number of official goals conceded by the team.
- GD (Goal Difference): Calculated by subtracting Goals Against from Goals For (GF - GA). This acts as the primary mechanical tie-breaker.
- PTS (Points): The cumulative points total determining team position within the standings.
Tie-Breaker Principles
When associations finish the group stage with equal points totals, positions are prioritized based on the following sequential hierarchy:
- Superior overall Goal Difference (GD) in all group matches.
- Greater number of Goals For (GF) scored in all group matches.
- Points obtained in the group matches between the teams in question (head-to-head records).
Important Scope Constraints
This reference system uses a historical static snap shot. Future knock-out phases, bracket matchings, or actual live tournament results outside the 25 June timestamp do not display on this site. We provide this layout for editorial archival clarity.
